I am so happy - my publisher is going to send me a copy of mac 8.5 for the ole' 6500/250! Now I can run the new Epson 900 on the old Mac girl! Love the mac graphic machine! We have the 30g's harddrive on this Compaq loaded to the gills with pure junk - now - the old mac - is a different story. It has so many photoshop pictures and such I have done over the years that I will cry if and when the harddrive groans for the last time! Top priority: I need to find a way to make enough money to get a new Mac!!!!!! The daughter's Aptiva is back up and running and she is loving it! She has an Eminen theme wallpaper on her desktop - that she likes - but - every few minutes a clip of one of his song starts playing - drives her crazy!

Well have been trying to post for a few days through my mac running 8.0 and I couldn't get it to post and publish - will try with doze '95! Don't know if it's the Explorer 4.5 vs 5.5 or the mac-lower system or what! But if that's the only problem, I have on the internet with mac 8.0 - I consider myself lucky! We bought the Aptiva from my brother - since my mother heard him on the phone talking to someone about buying it - I figured good system for the girl - We have had a time trying to get a network adapter going in it. Finally put on the 3COM 905B that we had previously used in my mother's doze '95 - Then we couldn't get the system to install Standard Universal PCI to USB Controller - Duh - finally dawned on me to cancel windows install and go and to see if there was a driver on the system - Found it - Now it works and you can see by my being on the internet and atleast being able to type without the damn thing - Freeeeeeeeeeeeeezing-up - at startup!
Today - Thanksgiving - was nice - uneventful - stayed home - hubbie and daughter cooked dinner - my mom came over - watched a little football!

Met a gal that may become a friend and ally at mymac. I started blogging after reading a column she wrote-meant to email her . . . Anyway she lives in southern Utah and I live in SLC-turns out my sister inlaw cuts her hair. She made a suggestion about co-ing a few columns-and suggested name-Menopausal Momma-Smacked on Macs-I countered with: Two Red Hot Mommas - Who Love Mac Men - OR - Simply: Two Women Who Love Mac Men! And asked did she have any ideaers??? "Cuz-right now-I don't have anywhere close to Mac ideas! Then last night researching about blog - whose name did I find as some bigwig in utah.gov-none other than the man from BYU Computer Science Department - whose computer was the one that my mom had for awhile-the Quadra 840AV. Seems he was a big cheese with the @excite gang when they were in Provo. Small world! (So I went ahead and emailed the guy from Novell-told him that my daughter loved the Jerry Garcia Icons!)

Gave my brother back his Aptiva. Wanted to keep it, but he is proud of it and if he sticks with it-Hopefully he will learn something about computers and not sell it for a few bucks-drug money! Did laundry-new washer and dryer are nice and speedy! (Especially after hanging the wash on the line all spring and summer.) Even has a little tub to add the fabric softener when you start the wash-so you don't have to go back and do the re-rinse thing! Also put a load of dishes in the dishwasher. That was the extent of my mother duties today. Hubbie cooked dinner! Good man-I guess I'll keep him! Did some html work on my geocities pages. Actually made myself a homepage type thing, but I have to be signed into yahoo to use a lot of my links-so it's not really a homepage-now is it? Tried to get the 600 Epson up and printing black ink-Tomorrow I am going to hook it up to the Mac and see if I can force it to print-You know clean the valves, a little! (Prime the pump) -so to speak-it has propably sat in someone's closet and the ink jets are clogged up. I can only hope! Let ya know-if you care! Almost forgot: mymac.com-printed my story: Titled: Thrift Store Browser! (Cool-feel like a school girl-getting a circled A on her paper!) - Feel so "getty" oh so "getty". . .!
